GOMORRA(2008)
It’s not often that I fall asleep on a movie, and I did on this one. I didn’t want to………but I did. I was disappointed in this film. Very slow pacing with a lot of conversation and not much conflict. There were probably several moments of violence but they happen very fast. It seems like the European filmmaker’s philosophy of film is the opposite of what America’s is: show life with all the interesting parts cut out!
Hitchcock, who is British, once said, “Film is life with all the boring parts cut out.” Oh the irony. I guess Hitchcock in film-think was more American than European.
